Amy Gernux, originally from the farmlands of Western MA, is a performer and artist living, working, thrifting, and making soap and the occasional garment in Brooklyn, NY. She has performed at BAM Fisher, Joe's Pub, Danspace Project, The Kitchen, Judson Memorial Church, The Players Club, New York Live Arts, The Invisible Dog, Dixon Place, Roulette BK, JACK, Gelsey Kirkland Art Center, Bates College, and festivals throughout New York and New England. Amy is delighted to have collaborated with/performed the work of Bebe Miller, David Dorfman, Jim Findlay and Philip White, Kyle Abraham, Laura Dean, Nicholas Leighter, Angie Hauser, Andrea Miller,
David Parker, Alex Springer | Xan Burley, Shani Collins-Achille, Lisa Race,and Christine Bonansea. She performs primarily with The Feath3r Theory and formerly with Third Rail Projects in The Grand Paradise, and is one-half of a two-piece folk/blues outfit, Greasy Slax. Amy and band mate Skyler Volpe write original tunes and cover everything from old-time Americana to Gnarls Barkley. She has had the pleasure of shooting with The Feath3r Theory, Luke Smithers, Maria Baranova, Beryl Fine, Kate Enman, and Aitor Mendilibar. She received her BA with Honors and distinction in Dance (magna cum laude) from Connecticut College where she also studied drawing and sculpture.
